Lake Charles Messabout 2013 (page 2)

The last batch of pictures. I ran out of things to take pictures of so I took a bunch of Theodore Tugboat. We had fun playing with it. IMG 1182 is a complete kit for a UJ10 skiff.

Pictures 1190, 1191 and 1192 show the approach of thunder storms. I hastily packed up two trailer loads of boats and took off for home. We had almost no rain at home but Westlake got a lot of rain. The untitled picture is of??? Yes, out Great Grand Son.

It was a slow day at the club and we mostly visited. For lunch we had Hot Dogs with Red Beans and Rice. I think we fed something like 30 people. Various people brought things to supplement our meal. Thanks all. As usual, Ilse helped greatly with the meal and clean up. Thanks again.

We discussed changing the Messabout to a date in the spring when things are cooler and there is more wind. When we started the Messabout here, we arranged it to not conflict with other Messabouts in neighboring area and our own schedule including Deep South and Contraband Regattas and other club’s regattas. Through the years things change and perhaps we should do our Gathering in the spring. Comments? Dates?
