Wow Shorty,
That's all I can say, I never thought I'd see a Skate again. It was my first sailboat. I was 11 back in the summer of 1967 when my Dad and I went up to Wayne NJ and we picked her up in our 1960 Pontiac station wagon. I have great memories of learning how to sail on that little boat. In 1969 my Dad traded her in and bought an MFG Pintail, hull # 564 which I still sail today. But the Skate introduced me to sailing and made me a sailor for life. I've owned a number of sailboats in my life, besides the Pintail I sail an O'Day 35, but I'll never forget 'sailing by the seat of my pants' on a Skate. An of course that little cylinder of Styrofoam on the mast.
Thanks for the pic's, they really took me back in time. If I ever find one I'd be tempted to buy it for my grand-kids, God knows I don't need another boat in the yard!
Best Regards
Pete
