GREAT BOOK --- "Freshwater Fishes" by Lawrence M. Page and Brooks M. Burr, part of the Peterson Field Guides series ISBN: 0395910919
I really enjoy searching for, and collecting native fish to stock my pond and aquarium. Only problem I am having is figuring out what I have caught. This is a great book which has 47 photo pages of fish, grouped together so you can quickly flip thru the pages to identify which fish you caught. In the back of the book it has 133 maps of the areas which the fish are found in the wild, so you can look thru them and see which fish live around you. It is the only book I use, and after I identify the fish with the book and get it's common name, I use google images to search for more pictures on the net to further confirm the fish identification.
To the right is a direct link to Amazon where you can purchase it new, or used for around $6. If you click thru with this link, I get a kickback from Amazon - proceeds will help support my website habit. Thanks.
