Here are all of the board boat & beach cruising articles I know of.

Next Time :
We had a wonderful time, should definately do this again in mid Sept of 2004. Was thinking that if we built some PDRacers we could sail to the closer peninsula called "Oliver Point" which also has a beach area and a nice cove for anchoring. For pictures of the area see the geocache I left there [click here]

About the trip:
Group trip to sail small sunfish (and similar) board boats out to a beach and camp there overnights in tents on the shore. OK to bring a bigger boat if you want, just hoping to get the small ones out.
Saturday Oct 11th - meet at launch point sometime around 10am - 11am, and sail 6.5 miles due south from there to the 2nd peninsula.
Setup camp on the beach, sail around, have fun. There are a couple of exposed wrecks shown on the chart, might be fun to go look at them.
Sunday Oct 12th - Sail back when you have to, I'll probably start sailing back around 1pm.

Launch Point:
Launch at the public boat ramp which is 1/2 block west of the Luther Hotel, which is at 408 S Bay Blvd, Palacios, TX 77465. You can use MapQuest to figure how to get there. GPS: N28-41.924 W096-13.111

Directions from Houston: S on I-45, go 30 miles from The Woodlands
