Now lets see, how do we get this thing in the water?



Look! The "Uncle John" team is passing "Team June Bug"!



They have their sail up! That is what Team June Bug forgot, their sail!



This is a good closeup so you can see the fine workmanship that went into this craft.



Team Uncle John takes the lead!



The breeze was just about right.



Heading out past the breakwater to waypoint 1.



1st lap completed and heading back for mandatory skipper change.



I can't remember the design name on this one.



Looks pretty light doesn't it?



From this angle you would think it was made from 1/4".



Actually, it was made from 1.25" BCX with 8oz cloth. This little paddle boat weighted 92lbs and he was just showing off how strong he was.



I wasn't sure what was going on here so I took a picture.



Team Uncle John comes in for that skipper change while Team June Bug is still trying to get the rigging up.



We now have our 2nd boat launched.



In bewilderment, team June Bug is still in the pits with mechanical problems.



Ken Abrahams the owner/operator of Team Uncle John is about to launch his second craft a Bolger Pirate Racer.



When I first saw this design in BWAOM I thought it looked OK. I tell you seeing it in person, this is really a neat boat! I really like the curves and the paint job! This really is a neat boat!



I looked over and saw Chuck walking up. Now doesn't he look happy? I am glad I got this picture, his expression just captures the day. It was beautiful outside, the right breeze, and surrounded by the friendliest bunch of people.
