Board Boat Cruising - article from SBJ
This is a great story where Jeremy Barnard and James Meadows sailed a pair of Phantoms (similar to sunfish) from from Louisana to Maine. They beach cruised most of the way sleeping in tents on the shore.

Rowing Sunfish at Everglades 2005:
Thanks to Bill Turnbull for providing the photos of Larry Melat's rowing sunfish which he entered in the 2005 Everglades Challenge, which is a 300 mile long excursion race along the gulf coast of Florida. The race is often regarded as the pinnacle of all small boat excursion races. Most of the entrants use kayaks & canoes with various sailing rigs, but ironically the very first race was won using a Laser Expedition. Currently looking for Larry Melat's contact info to possibly do a write up of his voyage.

Other Board Boat Cruising:
There is a neat SBJ article about cruising in a sunfish.
In the book "The Sunfish Bible", there is a short 3 page article that described how this guy would beach cruise in his sunfish.
First Palacios Beach Raid, where I cruised in a Holder 12, and John Cody cruised in a Hobie Monocat 12.

The ultimate book is Beachcruising and Coastal Camping by: by Ida Little, Michael Walsh ISBN: 0918752159
This book is a classic, the authors (a man and woman) sail to the Bahamas and other locations and camp along beaches. They use various small boats, one of them is a Hobie catamaran towing a canoe with their gear.

*** Articles about beach cruising seem to be hard to find. If you know of one on the net, could you send me the link so I can post it here? Thanks.
