This is my beautiful wife in our Crescent Kayak Splash II. Before we bought the kayak, we had a Bolger Brick that I built to use as a simple little family boat that we could all get in for an afternoon sail. However, the brick was a little too heavy, awkward, and did not launch quickly. The biggest drawback was that the sides were so high that my girls couldn't reach out and splash in the water. I rented a 2 seat kayak at a local shop and took my daughter for a paddle - and I was hooked! Here was a small, lightweight kayak that could float my whole family!

Such a simple boat - light enough to carry from the car to the water, big enough to hold all of us, low sides for hours of splashing entertainment, and the simplicity of a double ended paddle for propulsion. Because of it's curved shape, my daughter named it "Boppy" after her stuffed seal of the same name.
This boat is so simple, yet has everything we need - light enough to carry from the car to the water (only 66 lbs), big enough to hold all four of us (rated for up to 500 lbs), low sides for hours of splashing entertainment, and a double ended paddle for propulsion.
